Nerds Heart YA:

Speaking of giveaways and awesome books, Nerds Heart YA currently has a bunch of swag up for grabs (including a heap of signed books and, yes this may seem random, a version of MS Office 2010). Here are the rules:

Just take a picture of one of the books on our short-list somewhere in the wild. Maybe you have a copy of the book at home, or you’ve seen it in a library, a bookshop, or even at a promotional event.

Wherever you see the book, take a picture of the book by itself, or put yourself in the picture. Then post it somewhere (On your blog, your Facebook page, your tumblr account, or Twitter account etc). Drop us a link to where you’ve posted in the comments of this post to be entered into the contest. Please include your email address and specify whether you’d prefer to win prize pack one, or prize pack two.

We’re thrilled to be a part of Nerds Heart YA 2011, and hope you all take part!

This Week on The Book Smugglers – Or, The BEA Appreciation Week Edition:

That’s right! Just like last year, we are devoting next week specifically to books we greedily snatched up at BEA. (Don’t worry – we’re only reviewing titles that have either already been published, or will be published very soon so you don’t have to wait to get your own copies!)

On Monday, Ana reviews a contemporary YA title (of course!), the strangely compelling What We Keep is Not Always What Will Stay by Amanda Cockrell

On Tuesday, Thea reviews a novel of the apocalypse (of course!), with her take on Daniel H. Wilson’s Robopocalypse. (Seriously, how cool is that title?)

Wednesday, we kick off a new series of Smugglers’ Ponderings posts – inspired by this year’s Book Blogger Convention. We’ll let you know what things were addressed at the con (if you weren’t there) and talk about what questions we wished could have been asked, and what topics we wish could have been addressed.

On Thursday, we’re back to our reviewing mania with Ana’s review of another YA novel, the award winning One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams-Garcia. Thea also puts on her reviewer hat and does YA urban fantasy with The Demon Trapper’s Daughter by Jana Oliver.

And, on Friday we close out the week with a joint review (of course!) of Draw the Dark by Ilsa J. Bick.

That’s it from us for now! If you’ll excuse us, we need to get our X-Men First Class on. (Dear Comic Book Movie Gods, PLEASE let it be ok.)

That’s right. There are 108 characters.

Thanks for mentioning the giveaway. Crosses fingers X-Men was ok (James McAvoy? Eh, I worry about it.)
