On his journey to find where he fits in he crosses paths with an eclectic group of individuals, from a secret government agent,to an ex-supermodel cannibal. Will he come to the enlightenment he so desperately desires before he catches a bullet…or worse? Laugh out loud funny and thought provoking, The Adventures of Squid Rasta ia sure to be an instant counterculture classic.

  • Stella Vance
    September 10, 2011 at 9:58 am

Am seeking reviews for a soon-to-be-released memoir:

Dancing with Duality: Confessions of a Free Spirit

Betrayed at the age of 21 by the first love of her life, Stella Vance embarks on a life of fearless adventure. She travels the world, adding notches to her lipstick case with lovers from all over the world, and surviving harrowing experiences, including abuse, addiction, abortion, date rape, and cult involvement. Along the way, Stella undergoes a spiritual transformation. Once awakened to the reality of nonduality, she gradually realizes that life is just a game, that death is just another dimension, and that nothing “out there” can really hurt her.
This inspiring page-turning memoir begins in the 1970s, with Stella as a Christian zealot. Subsequently questioning all religious dogma, Stella’s mystical quests leads her to delve deeply into the realms of dreams, psychic readings, astrology, tantric yoga, reincarnation and her own past lives, the entheogen ketamine, Indian holy men and women, revolving-door relationships, the seeker culture of southern California, and finally, the ultimate path of Advaita Vedanta. At the same time, she deals with anorexia and bulimia, addictions to cigarettes, marijuana, and alcohol, unwanted pregnancies, teaching in public schools, the death of several loved ones, foreclosure, and emigrating to South America.
The life of Stella Vance embodies all the adventure, drama, romance, humor, and philosophy of a free spirit set loose in the ’70s and finding its way into the new millennium. Reading Dancing with Duality provides experience that life is meant to provide entertainment, as well as to teach us how to be grateful, forgive, and heal from all its vagaries.
In the end, Stella’s free spirit journey takes her on the path to the ultimate freedom: freedom from the mind with all its fears, judgments, limiting beliefs, and worries.

    Hi Book Smugglers

I am a new indie author, with a background in traditional publishing in historical fiction and fantasy.

Would you review my latest work? It is called Sheer Purgatory and is an hilarious romp through the Afterlife in a Douglas Adams meets Terry Pratchett kind of way. If Monty Python had shot another movie, this would probably have been the one they shot dead. Dan arrives in Purgatory with Victor 3157, his well-meaning but incompetent guardian angel, where he finds he has to wash away his sins, outsmart angelic security and figure out how to get his life back.

If yes, will provide book in epub format. Thank you for your time.

Hi My name is Jack Weiand and I am writer of sci-fi, fantasy, mystery and adventure. I’m currently working on 8 novels. My first and latest one is available on Amazon Ekindle and it is called Rocket 88. It is about a car customizer who inherits a mysterious black car from his grand father. He soon realizes that this isn’t an ordinary classic car as he discovers it has no fuel tank, no way to open the hood and it is ridiculously fast. As the story unfolds, he soon discovers his deceased grand father’s true identity as a Russian nuclear physicist and the car’s true destructive purpose and what it was truly meant for during an era where tensions were high between the soviet union and the United states. If you would be so kind to read and review it, I would greatly appreciate it.

There are no vampires, werewolves, zombies or ghosts; we are the monsters.
I thank you in advance for your consideration.

Blurb: Jade has spent her entire life within the confines of the eye-color- obsessed Nirvana commune. She dreams of experiencing freedom but travel to the Outside is forbidden. Besides, she’s a dutiful daughter who never breaks the rules. As her seventeenth birthday approaches, however, she realizes just how little she wants to follow the commune rules. She doesn’t want to undergo another eye color surgery, or immediately choose a life partner, or follow her parents’ life paths of teaching or wine making. In fact, her green eyes suit her just fine, she’s never even been on a date, and she’s passionate about photography. And yet she’s resigned to do as she’s told because it’s easier for her to close her eyes and follow orders.
Her Grandmother Ruby’s murder is the catalyst that causes Jade to open her eyes wide for the first time in her life. She’s devastated yet determined to find the killer and their motive. With help from her mysterious friend Tyrian, and Peaches, the commune leader’s sweet daughter, Jade unearths dark secrets which include her mother’s illicit affair, her maternal grandparents’ escape from Nirvana, and a plethora of murders. To make matters worse, someone is hell bent on ending Jade’s mission for the truth, and that someone is most likely the killer.
Jade can’t continue conforming to an evil society and yet she fears the Outside is just as corrupt. If she resolves to flee and is caught, the punishment is banishment to the slave cabins…and blinding.
Although Jaded is considered a young adult dystopian novel, adults will be able to relate to Jade’s plight.

The email on your contact page gave me an error. If you are still doing reviews, request you consider my short book, Wasn’t Tomorrow Wonderful. It is a collection of three time travel short stories.

What if everybody has time travel?

Giving an serving of humor and action, the three stories deal with the same event. One morning everybody wakes up to find a new internet service. One that lets you send an email to yourself exactly one month into the future or into the past.
The first story is about the average person’s experience. The second is about a criminal coming to grips with his life in chaos. The third is the government’s reaction to the situation. Just trying to keep up, the situation quickly turns into an arms race that threatens nuclear holocaust.
