Introducing Red Room

After recently reviewing Huntress: Year One (link HERE), Ivory Madison, author and Red Room CEO invited us to share our blog and write content for Red Room, a wonderful new site promoting authors and bloggers alike in the literary landscape.

What is Red Room?

Red Room is a great resource for book lovers, providing a one-stop shop for reading author news, listening to podcasts, connecting with publishers, and–of course–blogging and networking with other readers.

Red Room launched in January 2008, and has an impressive membership–including Amy Tan, Stephen Colbert, Maya Angelou, and Barack Obama.

Membership is completely free, and open to everyone. We highly encourage everyone to join!

How do we fit in?

In addition to posting our blog entries over at Red Room–you may have noticed the new badge in our sidebar–we also have just completed our first orignial article for the site!

You may recall the recent discussion over print versus internet book reviews, and the blogger’s importance to that market, that Katie(babs) started. We Book Smugglers decided to evaluate the topic in our article, “Boldly Blogging Where No Newspaper Has Gone Before”.

Basically, our article explores how book review blogs kick-ass by not only allowing a more varied genre coverage but also by encouraging discussion between readers and the authors themselves. We believe that book review blogs are the future of the industry – the final frontier.
