Happy Sunday!

Wuthering Heights is one of my favourite books of all times. I read it when I was 15 and the story captured my imagination. This is probably when I fell in love with the brooding, dark, type of character and with the English moors.
Years later I found out that Kate Bush had done a song about it and fell in love all over again. I think it is a great song that captures the gothic mood of the book. But boy, have you seen the video?

It is one of the truly ghastly ones like for instance Bonnie Tyler’s Total Eclipse of the Heart. Great songs, awful videoclips. Which turns out to be the motto of a MTV Brazil show from the 90’s where the presenter chooses the most hilarious videoclips and copies them: from the visual to the clothes and choreography and then show the two videos side by side. This one is particularly funny because the presenter is a bearded man. You have to see it to grasp the awesomeness of the concept. The quality of the video is not so good but still very watchable. Just pay attention to their eyes when in close-up – it is one of these things that send me into fits of laughter:

I have watched this video countless times, specially when I am feeling down and it never fails to amuse me. I wanted to share it with you on this Sunday morning.

    ROTFL – I’ll just have to take you word for it that the song is about Wuthering Heights because I didn’t understand a single word she said. But the two videos side by side were quite a hoot!

    HAH!!! Ana I can’t understand a damn word coming outta the woman’s mouth! That is hilarious! I love the VJ’s mimicry–the facial expressions! Priceless.

    Kristie πŸ™‚ We’ll post later today! *salutes*

    Out on the wiley, windy moors
    We’d roll and fall in green.
    You had a temper like my jealousy
    Too hot, too greedy.
    How could you leave me,
    When I needed to possess you?
    I hated you. I loved you, too.

    Bad dreams in the night
    You told me I was going to lose the fight,
    Leave behind my wuthering, wuthering
    Wuthering Heights.

    Heathcliff, it’s me, your Cathy, I’ve come home. IΒ΄m so cold,
    let me in-a-your window

    Heathcliff, it’s me, your Cathy, I’ve come home. IΒ΄m so cold,
    let me in-a-your window.

    Ooh, it gets dark! It gets lonely,
    On the other side from you.
    I pine a lot. I find the lot
    Falls through without you.
    I’m coming back, love,
    Cruel Heathcliff, my one dream,
    My only master.

    Too long I roamed in the night.
    I’m coming back to his side, to put it right.
    I’m coming home to wuthering, wuthering,
    Wuthering Heights,

    Heathcliff, it’s me, your Cathy, I’ve come home. I’m so cold,
    let me in-a-your window.

    Heathcliff, it’s me, your Cathy, I’ve come home. I’m so cold,
    let me in-a-your window.

    Ooh! Let me have it.
    Let me grab your soul away.
    Ooh! Let me have it.
    Let me grab your soul away.
    You know it’s me–Cathy!

    Heathcliff, it’s me, your Cathy, I’ve come home. IΒ΄m so cold,
    let me in-a-your window
